Relocation of the Biogénopôle to La Timone University Hospital in Marseille

The BOVIS Group has successfully carried out an exceptional relocation operation: the transfer of the Biogénopôle to La Timone University Hospital in Marseille (13). This large-scale project, completed over three years as part of the Biogénopôle project, required the expertise and resources of several BOVIS Group agencies: Bovis Escolan, Manudem Rhône Alpes, and Bovis Midi Pyrénées, all under the expert coordination of Bovis Transferts.

A Strategic Transfer for Biology Laboratories

This relocation consolidated several biology laboratories, including key units such as biochemistry and hematology, to ensure a centralized and rapid emergency activity. This strategic grouping enhances operational efficiency and responsiveness, ultimately benefiting patient care.

Controlled Conditions for Biological Products Transfer

One of the major challenges of this operation was the transfer of cold biological products, including -80°C freezers containing sensitive samples. To ensure temperature maintenance and full traceability, the freezers remained plugged in throughout the transport thanks to specialized trucks equipped with electrical outlets.

Impressive Logistics

The project involved the relocation of significant volumes and a wide variety of equipment:

  • 150 laboratory analyzers, essential for the functioning of the units;
  • 4500 m³ of materials moved;
  • 1000 linear meters of laboratory archives;
  • A diverse range of equipment, materials, and consumables, including analyzers, biological and chemical products, microbiological safety cabinets (laminar flow hoods), freezers, refrigerators, laboratory furniture, consumables, as well as offices and various materials.

A Four-Phase Operation

Given the complexity of this project, it was executed in four main phases, ensuring a smooth and efficient organization while minimizing disruptions to the laboratories' activities.

A Multidisciplinary Expertise

The involvement of Bovis Escolan in Marseille (13), Manudem Rhône Alpes in Lyon (69), and Bovis Midi Pyrénées in Toulouse (31), under the coordination of Bovis Transferts, enabled the mobilization of the skills and specialized equipment necessary for this project. BOVIS Group’s technical and logistical expertise once again demonstrated its ability to meet the most demanding requirements, ensuring the safety and integrity of the equipment and materials being transferred.

Commitment to Medical and Scientific Projects

The relocation of the Biogénopôle to La Timone University Hospital illustrates BOVIS Group’s commitment to supporting large-scale projects in the medical and scientific fields. This success showcases our expertise in specialized logistics and delicate handling.
