Based in Villeneuve-la-Garenne (92), Bonal Manutention, a subsidiary of the Bovis Group, recently carried out a complex technical operation in the heart of Paris, at Bichat Hospital (18th arrondissement). Over the course of eight days, our teams supported a major construction company specializing in the installation of professional air conditioning systems, to replace several key components of the site’s thermal regulation system. This operation fully demonstrates our expertise in the demanding field of technical handling for HVAC systems.

A Tailor-Made Service for Chiller Replacement

The project involved the replacement of two chillers, six pumps, and the installation of new electrical cabinets. It was carried out in a particularly constrained environment, both outdoors and underground. Our teams first removed the old equipment before installing the new units, ensuring that existing systems were protected throughout the process—especially one chiller that remained operational during the entire intervention.

Expertise in Technical Handling for HVAC Equipment

This site presented a real technical challenge, requiring all the experience of Bonal Manutention in managing HVAC equipment in confined environments. The extremely narrow outdoor access allowed only a few centimeters of clearance between the chillers and the crane arms. In the basement, the chillers had to be manually hoisted from level -2 using chain blocks, then moved horizontally to reach the surface area where they could be picked up by the cranes.

Additionally, the presence of dense piping networks complicated the routing of the electrical cabinets, which had to be carefully maneuvered through existing installations. The success of this operation relied on perfect coordination between our field teams, our crane truck operators, and our technical management.
