Recently, our Bovis Nord Europe agency in Lesquin (59) participated in the improvement of healthcare in the Hauts-de-France region, with the delivery of medical magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) equipment to the Claude Huriez Hospital in Lille.

An operation with staggered hours

The operation, planned in staggered hours to minimize disruptions, began at the end of the afternoon and ended at 11 p.m. A specialized team supervised each step with meticulous attention, thus guaranteeing the success of the mission.

An innovative handling methodology

Our project manager has devised an innovative methodology to enable the unloading and handling of the MRI. We used scaffolding elements to design an unloading dock, allowing the equipment to enter through the hospital façade safely. The use of a 110-ton crane arm truck made it easier to lift the 6-ton magnet, a complex maneuver performed with great precision by our highly skilled crane operators.

The protection of the hospital's floors was a priority throughout the operation. Our team installed protective plates to preserve surfaces, especially in the corridors and in the Faraday cage, thus guaranteeing the integrity of the hospital facilities. With the construction of this reinforced runway, the team carefully handled the MRI to its final location through the hospital corridors.

For this service, we commissioned a highly specialized team, used to this type of delicate handling. The delivery of the various elements of the MRI went perfectly, in optimal safety conditions.
