Unloading and Handling of an Industrial Milling Machine near Paris

The Bovis Group, through its Bovis Industrie center of excellence, successfully carried out a handling and technical installation operation for an industrial plant in Trappes (78), Île-de-France. This service was performed by our Bovis Transport agency in Fleury-Mérogis (Essonne, 91), with the support of our Manudem Île-de-France agency, located nearby in Yvelines (78).

A 16-Ton Machine Tool Installed in an Industrial Workshop

The project involved the unloading and installation of a 16-ton multi-spindle industrial milling machine, a high-precision piece of equipment comprising a control console, a metal installation base, and various components. This intervention was carried out as part of the replacement of an older machine with a more efficient model, significantly improving the plant’s production capacity.

Project Exécution

• Reception and Site Preparation

Arrival of the machine directly from Poland on a flatbed trailer.

Placement of the metal base using a forklift to ensure stable anchoring.

• Lifting and Handling of the Milling Machine

Use of a 100T mobile crane to lift the machine and position it at the workshop entrance.

Transport of the machine inside the building with Moovers, enabling movement despite tight maneuvering spaces.

Remote-controlled guidance for precise positioning in the designated work area.

• Final Installation and Adjustments

Lifting the machine with manual hydraulic pumps, as its low height made it unsuitable for conventional jack handling.

Placement of tanks and fine-tuning of the equipment to align with the pre-marked floor positioning.
