Safe transport and delicate handling of a sculpture in Montpellier

A Precise Operation by Bovis Occitanie in Montpellier 

Our Bovis Occitanie agency in Béziers (34) recently carried out the transport and handling of a bronze sculpture in Montpellier.

Bovis Occitanie acted on behalf of Bovis Fine Art, the Bovis Group's sales department specialising in the transport of works of art.

The process of handling and transporting this sculpture to Montpellier required a meticulous approach to ensure the preservation of the artwork.

For the collection from the city's reserves, our teams used a forklift to place the sculpture in a custom-made crate made by the Bovis Group's professional carpentry. This packaging ensured safe transport to the restoration workshop in Arles.

After restoration, the work is carefully placed in its custom-made box and transported safely to the Montpellier Museum of Casts.

For the handling and installation of the work in the museum, our team uses an aluminum gantry. This handling is carefully organized to guarantee the integrity of the work throughout the process. This protocol ensures optimal protection of the sculpture, from its initial movement from the storage room to its final location in the museum.
