Île-de-France
STMO recently demonstrated its expertise in delicate handling by helicopter during a technical lifting operation on one of the highest rooftops in Paris.
The operation took place in La Défense, atop the Hyfive tower, reaching 65 meters in height. The objective: to install four 750-kg cooling units intended for the building’s air conditioning system.
After careful loading of the equipment onto a semi-trailer at STMO's premises, the units were transported to La Défense. On site, a 3.5-ton electric forklift handled the unloading, followed by preparation for lifting. Rigging was expertly carried out by a team of four technicians on the ground.
Using a Super Puma heavy-lift helicopter, the heat pumps were flown to the rooftop in just four rotations. Each unloading phase at the top was handled by another team of four people, working in perfect coordination with the pilot and ground teams.
This operation perfectly illustrates STMO’s ability to deliver tailored solutions for projects with complex logistical challenges. Helicopter lifting is an ideal method when traditional crane access is either impossible or too restrictive—especially in dense urban environments or very tall buildings.
Thanks to its full command of technical and regulatory constraints, STMO manages the entire operation, including obtaining the necessary administrative permits. Seamless coordination, rigorous logistics, and uncompromising safety are at the core of every mission.
With recognized expertise in HVAC systems and energy equipment, STMO regularly handles projects involving the transport, handling, and installation of heat pumps, cooling units, industrial boilers, and ventilation systems.
Operating throughout the Île-de-France region, STMO is part of the Bovis Group and benefits from the support of a robust logistics network, a fleet of next-generation handling equipment, and highly specialized technicians. Whether for new installations or replacement operations, STMO guarantees secure, efficient, and on-time service.
