Remplacement de deux machines d’impression au nord de Strasbourg

A technical intervention carried out by Bovis Alsace, with expertise for a safe replacement of printing machines.

We are proud to announce the successful completion of a complex material handling project for our client, a company specialising in large-format digital printing, located north of Strasbourg. This involved the replacement of two printing machines, and we ensured that this process ran without interruption to their production line.

 

Two handling steps for a smooth transition

To ensure operational continuity, we planned the replacement of the machines in two distinct stages:

  • February 13, 2024: Replacement of the first machine.

  • March 12, 2024: Replacement of the second machine.

 

Details of the machines handled

  • New Inkjet Printers (Qty: 2)

    • Dimensions : L 6730 mm x l 1880 mm x H 21800 mm
    • Weight: 4536 kg each
  • Older inkjet printers (Qty: 2)

    • Dimensions : L 6450 mm x l 1550 mm x H 1930 mm
    • Weight: 3400 kg each

 

Printing Machine Handling Process in Strasbourg (67)

We have implemented a detailed and precise process for the replacement of the machines, thus ensuring safe and efficient handling:

1.Unloading and preparation:

  • Unloading new machines onto their pallets using our forklift.
    • Placing pallets on V-shaped trolleys with multidirectional castors at the front.
    • Placing the trolley on the rear part of the pallet.
    • Rolling to the front of the workshop door.

2.Depalletization and inland transport:

  • Lifting the machines with the forklift to depalletize them.
    • Installation of steel road plates on the outside, in front of the sectional door.
    • Installation of the machines on fixed roller skates, raised with 150 mm wooden wedges.
    • Installation of an IPN (1200 mm long, 200 mm thick) for positioning the moover.
    • Rolling machines indoors for temporary positioning near their final location.

3.Removal of old machines:

  • Lifting of old machines with hydrogrif cylinders for positioning on fixed skids, with lifting by wooden wedging.
    • Use of the IPN and moover for outward rolling.
    • Lifting of old machines with the forklift and loading onto transport pallets.

4.Final installation of the new machines:

  • Rolling the new machines to their final location using the pads and moovers.
    • Placing machines on the ground with hydrogrif cylinders to ensure a stable and secure installation.
