Press Review – Storing Notre Dame's Artworks in Paris Match

The press highlights the ability of Groupe Bovis to combine responsiveness, expertise, and tailor-made solutions

In her article published on April 25, 2024, in the renowned magazine Paris Match, journalist Anne Cécile Beaudoin shines a spotlight on the exemplary commitment of the Bovis Fine Art teams in the monumental project of conserving and restoring the artworks of Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris.

Following the tragic fire in 2019, Groupe Bovis mobilized its resources and expertise to propose innovative, tailor-made solutions. The article emphasizes the group's outstanding responsiveness, having managed to set up a 2,000 m² conservation space in one of its secured warehouses in the Île-de-France region in less than two months.

Groupe Bovis' expertise in designing customized storage spaces

This space, dedicated to the artworks from Notre-Dame, includes:

  • A climate-controlled storage facility: specially designed to store the cathedral's paintings under optimal conditions. This project involved the installation of custom-built painting racks, requiring 10 tons of steel for their construction.
  • A restoration workshop for frames and supports: enabling specialists to intervene on-site to restore these essential components of the artworks.
  • A restoration workshop for painted layers: equipped to treat the paintings themselves with meticulous attention to detail and the preservation of historical materials.

Anne Cécile Beaudoin highlights the ingenuity and professionalism of the Bovis Fine Art teams, as well as their ability to meet the demands of the most exacting clients. The article also praises the care taken at every stage of this extraordinary project, perfectly illustrating the philosophy of Groupe Bovis: providing tailored and innovative solutions to tackle the most complex challenges.

Groupe Bovis thus reaffirms its status as a benchmark in the field of artwork conservation and transport, while implementing personalized solutions to support the most prestigious cultural and heritage projects.
