Île-de-France
Recently, Marchal Technologies, a subsidiary of the Bovis Group, successfully transferred 57 orange trees from the Orangerie in Meudon to the Jardin des Tuileries. This project, commissioned by the Public Establishment of the Louvre Museum, demonstrates our expertise in heavy handling and specialized transport.
Characteristics of the Orange Trees
The transferred orange trees weigh several hundred kilos, measure up to 3.55 meters in height and are between 1 and 2 meters wide. Their transport required rigorous logistics and specific equipment.
Resources mobilized
For this large-scale operation, our agency in the north of Paris has implemented significant logistical resources:
2 curtain semi-trailers
1 truck with crane arm
1 x 3 ton forklift
1 transpalette
Planning and Deadlines
The route between the Orangerie de Meudon and the Jardin des Tuileries was meticulously planned. We carried out this service in two days, with a rotation of two semi-trailers per day, thus respecting the deadlines.
Transfer Process
The transfer of the orange trees took place in several stages:
Arrival of the semi-trailers at the Orangerie de Meudon
Loading the orange trees into the trucks
Transport to the Tuileries Gardens
Entrance through the Concorde gate
Unloading and placing the orange trees according to the instructions of the Louvre agents
Two agents from the Jardin du Louvre department supervised all the operations to ensure the proper execution of the placement of the orange trees.
Plant Diversity
In addition to orange trees, we transported various other plants, including mandarin, pomegranate, lemon and olive trees. This testifies to the richness and diversity of the plant collections of the Jardin des Tuileries.
