In Aix-en-Provence, artistic heritage is at the heart of municipal concerns. With this in mind of preservation and enhancement, the municipality recently collaborated with Bovis Anoxie for an ambitious conservation service: the preventive treatment of works of art by dynamic anoxia before their transfer to storage.
This intervention took place at the Bovis Fine Art Provence agency located between Aix-en-Provence and Marseille.
The Bovis Anoxie team is an expert in the installation of dynamic anoxia bubbles and offers this service in different forms:
Institute at our clients' premises.
In one of the 39 branches of the Bovis Group.
In our mobile containers that can criss-cross France and be installed wherever our customers want.
The treatment in a dynamic anoxia bubble involved a wide variety of works: furniture, musical instruments, paintings, carpets, sculptures, models, etc.
Previously scattered in various locations such as churches, museums or storage areas, these works will now be stored in remote storage managed by Bovis Fine Art.
Thanks to precise temperature and humidity management, these storerooms provide a high-quality museum environment, ensuring optimal long-term conservation.
To testify to this unique experience, a captivating time-lapse video presents the different stages of the creation of the anoxia bubble:
Installation of the bubble base (felt and protecta).
Positioning of the works to be treated.
Unpacking of works and condition reports before processing.
Hermetic closure of the bubble bell with welding at the base.
Inflation of the bubble and launch of the 21-day treatment.
This collaboration between the city of Aix en Provence and Bovis Anoxie is further proof of the attachment of the municipality of Aix en Provence to its artistic heritage, in order to offer future generations the opportunity to discover and appreciate these cultural treasures in the best possible conditions.
